Lessons

Lord, You desire us to . Jesus, You have already won our total salvation, yet we need to rise up, in faith, to believe in what You have already done. Lord, let us move and grow into a life of prayer, praise and maturity. “Leave inexperience behind, and you will live; pursue the way of understanding.” Pv.9.6
How to Keep Growing
496091When we stop growing, we stagnate. Studying Your Word, seeking to stay in the center of Your will,  brings us to how You work with us to teach us the lessons we need to acquire for the completion of life that can be had in You. Adversity seems to be a time ripe to learn from You–it is a time we know we are lacking in answers, so we are often more ready to listen to You. Open our hearts ,Lord. Bring us to courage, to patience, and to healing.
Our part is to accept the gifts of direction, perspective, wisdom and courage!Help us to ask You–what are You trying to teach us today? Where are You leading us?
Pray to Heal Our Nation
This day we especially lift up our nation. Bless and heal our land. May our hearts turn from the sins of pride, greed and independent thinking. May we find true independence by being dependent on You and Your righteousness. Turn us back to You! We pray for safety this day. May there be a spirit of gratitude for all the blessings You have given us!
Thank you for praying. Blessings. Nancy

  1. Good morning brothers and sisters in the Lord. I pray that all is well and that this class finds you inspired and close to our Savior Jesus Christ. I wanted to write these lessons concerning the Feasts of the Jewish culture. I hope they are inspirational to all. Each lesson will focus on one feast. Today’s lesson will be on the Passover.
First I need to explain various ways the Bible explain meanings to us. This is done through, parables or stories, similes, like in Psalm 22:14, I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. hypocatastasis, or an implied resemblance as in 1 Cor. 13:12, For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. Allegories or an extended story like the Prodigal son and types which is used to foreshadow a person or event. The name Jesus is a variation of the Hebrew name Joshua which means Yahweh is salvation. I will be focusing, in this lesson on Biblical types.
1 Cor. 10:11Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
    1. Manna. God gave this daily bread to the Israelites as they wandered through the wilderness. As the wafer like flakes fell they said” what is it” giving manna its name. Every day manna fell from Heaven and they were told to collect just enough for that day except on the 6th day when they could collect twice as much.Exo 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Exo 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
In the New Testament John says,
Joh 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
Joh 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
Joh 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Another type is the brazen serpent, found in Numbers 21. In response to all the complaining of the people of Israel, God sent fiery serpents with poisonous venom into their midst. As the serpents bit and killed many of the people, they recognized their sins and asked Moses to pray for them. God told Moses to hold up a brass serpent on a pole and place it on the top of a hill. All those that had been bitten were instantly healed when they looked upon the serpent. This is the only mention of the brazen serpent in the Old Testament except in 2 Kings when King Hezekiah destroyed it because people started to worship the idol, calling it Nahushtan. It really makes no sense that God would use a serpent as a source of healing because snakes were associated with evilThe snake on a pole made no sense until in the New Testament Jesus revealed its true meaning. In John 3 Jesus is talking to Nicodemus and Jesus describes His own death
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
A snake resembles sin and Christ was made sin and received Gods judgement for us all. When we turn our eyes on Him,and believe in Him, He heals us from sin.
That being said, Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
It is important to note that not only are the feasts prophetic, but each gets fulfilled at its appointed time, on the very day it is observed. We probably all remember the movie, The Ten Commandments, which depicts the death of all firstborn. In Exodus 11 and 12, God told Moses to to take an unblemished lamb, kill it and spread the blood over the doorposts of their homes. On the Hebrew calendar this was the 14th of Nisan. When the angel of death went through Egypt all those that had the blood on the doorpost, were passed over. Remember Passover is on 14th of Nisan. Each family was to find a lamb and keep it for 4 days prior which would be 10th of Nisan. This lamb was to stay in the house for these 4 days so they could insure its safety. After 4 days, this lamb almost would become a pet, which in 4 day would be slaughtered. In this picture God is showing that there is a price to pay for sin. This was an object lesson every year to the Jewish family that God does not wink at sin.
Christ is our Passover. Num 9:11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
Num 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
As we see Christ on the cross, because of the holy day coming the Romans were ordered to break the legs of those on the crosses. As the soldier came to Jesus he saw that the man on the middle cross was already dead, so to be sure he thrust his spear into His side to make sure He was dead. That day, Christ became our sacrificial lamb. He shed His blood for us which protects us from death. He was found without blemish even Pilate said, Joh 19:6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. Jesus died for our sins, was buried and then 3 days later rose from the dead. Do you have eternal life? Have you had the blood of Jesus wash you clean? If not please say this simple with all your heart and Jesus will do the rest. Jesus, I know I have done things in my life that separates me from God. I acknowledge that you are the only true Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins, was buried and 3 days later rose from the dead. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me live a life dedicated to you and others. In Jesus name I pray. Please contact me if you have any questions and or concerns. You are a child of God and He loves you very much.
My next class will focus on the next feast, the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Hope this was a blessing to you. Again, please contact me if you have any questions. I’d be happy to chat with you.
